What We Build

Every outdoor kitchen we design is built around how you actually cook and entertain — not around a catalog template. We start with your cooking style, your yard layout, and your budget, and design from there. Most projects integrate a grill station, prep surface, under-counter storage, and at least one appliance. More elaborate builds include pizza ovens, smokers, full wet bars, and covered dining areas.

Grill Stations

We build grill stations around premium built-in grills from brands like Lynx, DCS, Weber Genesis Built-in, and Napoleon. Gas line design, regulator selection, and proper clearances are all handled in-house — including the permit process for gas work where required.

Countertops & Prep Surfaces

Outdoor countertops need to handle temperature swings, moisture, UV exposure, and heavy use. We work with quartzite, granite, porcelain slab, and concrete — materials that hold up outdoors long-term. We avoid quartz and engineered stone for exterior applications where freeze/thaw cycling will degrade the resin binders.

Weatherproof Cabinetry & Storage

Outdoor cabinetry is not indoor cabinetry moved outside. We build and install marine-grade polymer cabinetry and stainless steel storage systems specifically rated for outdoor exposure — waterproof, UV-resistant, and built to handle the winters that Westchester and Fairfield County deliver.

Appliances & Refrigeration

Outdoor-rated refrigerators, ice makers, beverage coolers, and warming drawers are all available as built-in options. We rough in the dedicated electrical circuits and plumbing connections before the countertops go in — no afterthoughts, no surface-run conduit.

Pizza Ovens & Smokers

Wood-fired and gas pizza ovens, offset smokers, and Kamado-style cookers can all be integrated into a masonry or framed surround and incorporated into the counter run. We handle the structural support, clearances, and any required gas or electrical connections.

Utility Connections

An outdoor kitchen is only as good as its utility connections. Gas, electrical, plumbing, and drainage all need to be designed before a single countertop is set. We coordinate all trades and handle the permit process — so nothing gets added as an afterthought.

  • Dedicated gas line from the house — properly sized for total BTU load
  • LP conversion available where natural gas is not accessible
  • Dedicated 20A and 30A circuits for appliances and lighting
  • GFCI protection on all exterior electrical outlets
  • Plumbing rough-in for sinks — hot and cold where desired
  • Drain lines run to a dry well, French drain, or municipal connection
  • Outdoor-rated conduit and weatherproof outlet covers throughout

Integration With Decks & Patios

Most outdoor kitchens work best as part of a larger outdoor living system — a deck or patio that provides the floor, a pergola or covered structure that provides the roof, and the kitchen as the anchor. As certified Trex and TimberTech installers, we can design and build the entire system as one integrated project: deck, pergola, kitchen, lighting, and all utility connections under a single contract.

Deck-Integrated Kitchens

When the outdoor kitchen sits on a Trex or TimberTech deck, we frame a dedicated zone with enhanced structural support to handle the weight of stone countertops and heavy appliances. The decking runs up to the cabinet base perimeter for a clean, unified look.

Patio-Based Kitchens

For patio-based builds, we work with bluestone, flagstone, travertine, and large-format porcelain pavers — all materials that support the weight of outdoor kitchen structures without the flex concerns of wood decking.

Covered Outdoor Kitchens

A pergola, pavilion, or full roof structure over the kitchen dramatically expands the usable season — keeping you cooking in light rain and protecting the appliances and cabinetry year-round. We design and build overhead structures as part of any outdoor kitchen project.

How We Work

Our Process

01

Design Consultation

We visit your yard, discuss your cooking style and entertaining habits, and develop a layout that works with your existing or planned deck or patio.

02

Utility Planning

We design the gas, electrical, and plumbing rough-ins before anything else is decided — utility connections drive the layout as much as aesthetics do.

03

Permitting

Gas lines, electrical work, and structures above a certain size require permits. We handle all applications and inspections.

04

Build & Commission

We build the structure, set countertops, install appliances, and commission all utilities before the final walkthrough.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do outdoor kitchens require a permit?

Usually yes — gas lines, electrical connections, and structures above a certain size require permits. We handle all permit applications and inspections as part of every outdoor kitchen project.

Can an outdoor kitchen be built on an existing deck?

Yes, but the deck structure must be evaluated for load capacity. Outdoor kitchen equipment — grills, refrigerators, stone countertops — adds significant weight. We assess the existing framing at the estimate stage and reinforce where needed.

What countertop materials work best outdoors?

Porcelain, granite, and concrete perform best in outdoor environments. Natural marble and limestone are beautiful but require sealing and are more susceptible to weathering. We recommend porcelain for most Westchester and Fairfield County homeowners given the region's freeze-thaw cycles.

How do you handle gas line installation?

Gas line rough-in is coordinated with a licensed plumber as part of the project — we don't leave utility connections as a homeowner responsibility. The line is run, tested, and inspected before any finish work is completed.
